OzFish Unlimited is excited to announce a new platform to find work in fish habitat restoration with our Casual Staff Pool now available. This new opportunity aims to put the right people in the right positions when needed.

Every day at OzFish is different, with new projects and partnerships and problems to solve. Whether it’s inland or coastal, in the tropical Top End or arid South Australia, there are always waterways to protect and fish habitats to restore.

The Casual Staff Pool has been designed for people who have degrees in Natural Resource Management and Environmental Science, or with similar experience. The roles will become available on an emergent basis and will be dynamic, as well as specific to projects at the time.

How to Apply:
Submissions for the Casual Staff Pool are open year-round. If you’re interested, head over to the OzFish careers page and click ‘Apply Now’ to submit your application.

What to Expect:
After applying, you’ll receive an email from OzFish regarding the status of your application. Successful candidates will be invited for an interview, which will occur approximately every three months.

Important Note:
Please keep in mind that this is a casual staff pool and acceptance does not guarantee a paid position with OzFish. While we strive to provide working opportunities for successful interview candidates, these opportunities may not always be available due to factors such as location or skill alignment.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with on-ground activities (aquatic restoration actions, habitat installation, data and monitoring etc.)
  • Engaging recreational fishers in OzFish activities including supervising volunteers.
  • Communication and promotion of OzFish activities through news and media.
  • General administrative support for OzFish Program Manager.

The casual staff pool is ideal for early career job seekers that have flexibility or those wanting to stretch themselves to get experience and expand their skills.

OzFish believes that collaboration and knowledge-sharing are key to achieving impactful and long-term results in conservation.

If you’re a passionate fisho eager to contribute to the preservation of aquatic environments, we invite you to apply. Together, we can make a real difference in protecting and restoring fish habitats for future generations.
