Members Exclusive: Darwin Tangle Bin Weaving Workshop – NT
May 9 @ 4:00 pm - 7:30 pm ACST
Darwin Chapter members are invited to an exciting member’s Exclusive event with with local NT artist Aly De Groot!
OzFish are incredibly excited to offer our Darwin Chapter members the opportunity to participate in one of Aly De Groot’s specialised weaving workshops, using the material collected through out NT Tangle Bin and National Tackle Loop Project.
“Aly de Groot is an award winning contemporary fibre and eco-artist from Northern Australia. Her woven sculpture, public works and jellyfish jewellery designs celebrate the ocean and remind us of the importance of preserving and protecting sea life in the plastic age.”
With the help of our dedicated volunteers and rec fishing community, OzFish have been recycling discarded line and other fishing tackle as part of its ongoing commitment through the NT Tangle Bin Project around Darwin and Palmerston Lakes. The initiative aims to protect our aquatic and marine environments and facilitate improved stewardship in the fishing community.
Join us, as we come together and learn about the impacts of marine litter and what we can do as stewards of our waterway to make a positive change.
