OzFish Unlimited and Landcare NSW have joined forces to empower local communities across NSW to improve their local waterways. Focusing on habitat restoration to improve the health of habitats in their local waterways.

In Year 4 of the project, the partnership will see 20 MORE fish habitat restoration projects co-designed and delivered across NSW.

Community volunteers will also be up-skilled to better understand and deliver fish habitat restoration across 20 waterways and support the previous projects.

South Creek, NSW 2024

At South Creek, OzFish members, landcarers, and local community will work together to clean up flood debris at the site, remove invasive weeds, and help replant native vegetation. These work will commence once the site has been fenced off to exclude grazing cattle.

Funded by the Endeavour Energy Community Grants Program, this Collaboration between Shellharbour City Council, Illawarra Landcare, Tullimbah Landcare, and OzFish aims to restore a degraded section of saltmarsh along the foreshore at Karoo Bay.

Regional Youth Investment Program

This project will see young people restoring river health and habitat for wildlife by planting trees along waterways, making fish hotels for threatened fish species, restoring wetlands, collecting rubbish and designing and implementing a litter prevention project for their local river.
