Lucas Kas – Project Officer – Greater Sydney and Hunter Region

Having grown up on the far north coast of NSW, consumed by an excess of ocean-centric hobbies, Lucas was instilled with a strong sense of gratitude for all that the marine environment provides, driving him to establish a career founded on giving back to these ecosystems.

Lucas completed an Environmental Management degree at the University of NSW with an honours degree in marine science and went on to work on large scale research and conservation programs for the South Australia Aquatic Science Centre and the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Services. He later worked as an environmental consultant within Assessment and Approvals, and Community Engagement teams to deliver renewable energy and major infrastructure projects across NSW.
Lucas is dedicated to using his knowledge and enthusiasm to actively protect and restore our waterways and enhance the community’s connection to these environments.
