Dr Kate Brooks – Director
Based in Melbourne, Kate is a social scientist, passionate about increasing collaboration, and subsequent benefits, between community, industry and government in the area of fisheries and natural resource management. She has developed an international career in the area of fisheries and coastal management, for social research and advice for industry and policy, about drivers of behaviour and culture, and generating positive outcomes for stakeholders.
Following a fifteen-year career in marketing and corporate affairs, Kate moved into research in Federal fisheries, agriculture and forestry policy. She commenced working in her own consultancy fulltime from 2007. Kate is a Board member on a number of Government Authorities and not for profit Boards, and continues her academic association and pursuits through Fellowships at the Crawford School, ANU and the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Deakin University.
