Habitat Mapping

Habitat mapping of instream habitats is essential for understanding, communicating, identifying restoration, monitoring sites, and tracking of environmental change.

OzFish has developed this handy mapping document which any OzFish Chapters can use while undertaking habitat mapping. This will ensure all habitat mapping completed will follow the same techniques, allowing each internal and external project group to utilize the same data.

Baseline habitat mapping of waterways will help inform future projects on the effectiveness of these practices and will also help raise public awareness of de-snagging, fish health and abundance.
