Seagrass Monitoring at Mourilyan Harbour

OzFish Cairns Chapter is excited to announce that we will be monitoring seagrass at Mourilyan Harbour with our project partners at JCU (TropWATER)
Recreational fishers in the Cassowary Coast and Cairns regions are invited to attend to participate in the monitoring activity and to learn more about how this project is contributing to improved fish habitat.
Places on the boats are limited so these will be allocated to volunteers on a first-come-first-served basis.
We’ll meet at the boat ramp at Mourilyan Harbour at 12 noon to board the boat and the monitoring will be conducted using drones over the water.
Volunteers will need to bring sun-protective clothing (long-sleeved shirts, hats), drinking water and sunscreen.
All operational equipment will be provided on the day.
Registrations are essential.
