Ripples of Change – Paddle Three
October 12 @ 8:30 am - 1:00 pm AEDT
Ripples of Change; supporting women’s mental health through social connection and environmental stewardship.
The Ripples of Change Project aims to support local women with the opportunity to connect with other women and be part of the energy and flow of our pristine waterways of the Manning.
We invite you to join us on the beautiful Khappinghat Creek, for an easy 4.5km return paddle, experiencing the magic of building resilience, connection and environmental stewardship within the Manning Valley.
Before hitting the water, OzFish will share the importance of healthy riparian (riverbank) areas and saltmarsh habitats In the lagoon. But you will see the beauty for yourself!
After attending the paddle, participants can “pay it forward” by encouraging somebody in their community to join, who they feel will benefit from such an experience. The story continues for each following paddle, creating Ripples of Change for mental health and well-being support.
We encourage all participants and supporters of the cause to join us for an evening at a Taree Rowing Club, November 7, as we celebrate our successes and stories from attendees about their experiences and work together to continue building opportunities and stronger connections for mental health support in the Manning Valley. Catering will be provided.
Each paddle will have a maximum of 7 people on the water. OzFish may contact you in the days leading up to the event to confirm your attendance. If you are not able to make it anymore, we will offer your position to those who are shortlisted.
Please note: registration is essential!
This event is supported by Manning Valley Kayaking, Manning Landcare and OzFish Unlimited and has been made possible through a collaboration between Hunter Local Land Services and Mid Coast 2 Tops Landcare Network.
