Marom Creek Magic – Riparian Restoration Day
October 12 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm AEDT
Come and join us for a fun filled, fish friendly morning along Marom Creek!
We will be planting 1000 native trees and grasses and checking out the aquatic life in the creek through some BRUV (baited remote underwater video) surveys at Praesentia – a beautiful property overlooking the Tuckean and a prime example of what our local waterways can be with a bit of love!
OzFish are helping to build on the amazing work that landholders and eco-restorations have undertaken so far, with a goal of restoring ~2 ha riparian zone and enhancing a further 6 ha of surrounding vegetation.
Marom Creek is home to Australian bass, mullet, catfish, freshwater crays and small bodied natives, with more species expected to be found in our surveys.
Come and get involved – your efforts from the day will be helping to improve water quality and fish habitat and gain valuable data in an important and biodiverse area of the Richmond Catchment.
Morning tea, beautiful surroundings and great company will be provided.
Registration is essential. We hope to see you there!
This event is part of the Richmond River Fest, presented by Richmond Riverkeeper and is part of OzFish’s Driving Fish Habitat Action partnership with Landcare NSW, with funding support from the NSW Recreational Fishing Trusts and BCF – Boating, Camping, Fishing.
