Fisher Science in the Manning Valley – NSW

August 22 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm AEST

OzFish team member with a BRUV

Come along and get involved in water quality sampling at Browns Creek, which has been identified as a priority area for the Manning Estuary.

The following parameters will be tested on the day, with a focus on how those parameters affect fish and aquatic species living within the creek and estuary.

  • temperature
  • pH
  • electrical conductivity
  • turbidity (clarity)
  • BRUV imagery (deploying Baited Remote Underwater Video to identify local species)

We will be focusing on sampling Browns Creek and surrounds over the next couple of months, and revisiting sites to continue taking sample replicates and increasing our data. All of the collected data will be uploaded to the National WaterWatch database which will be shared and utilised to effectively manage our waterways.

All training will be provided on the day and is perfectly suited for recreational anglers, passionate community members and university/TAFE students wishing to learn new skills.

There are limited numbers for this one, so get in quick!
Registration is essential. We hope to see you there.
