Coldstream River Tree Planting – NSW

October 8, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm AEDT

Join OzFish Clarence River Chapter to plant trees along Coldstream riverbank.

Due to vegetation loss, the riparian bank has little native vegetation & mainly consists of exotic weeds. Therefore, the site needs native vegetation & bush regeneration control to enhance the Coldstream River riparian bank and assist in the prevention of erosion.

The project will enhance fish habitat and stabilise the riparian banks with deep rooted native vegetation, which will reduce bank erosion. This will be done through the installation of large woody debris (snags) and the planting of overhanging native vegetation that will provide a source for insect life and shade for fish. These actions will increase biodiversity and improve the natural breeding grounds for Australian Bass & other native aquatic species.

Attendees are asked to bring water and sunscreen and wear enclosed footwear, long pants and sun protection.

Lunch will be provided, registration is essential.
We hope to see you there!
