Birak in the Bay – Show Us Your Catch to Win Cash!

Want to win some cash just by going fishing? It’s simple: catch a fish in Geographe Bay during Birak (December/January), take a picture with the code word (OZFISH) and tell us about a local habitat important to that species during its lifetime. There is $1000 up for grabs in the adult competition and $500 for kids, each category has a $250 runner-up prize as well as more prizes from BCF.

As we know, luck doesn’t always mean a successful fishing trip; successful fishers always consider the habitat they fish in before casting a line. We want to hear what you know about the different marine habitats in Geographe Bay and why they are so important to local species.

Maybe you like to fish the sand flats, drift over the seagrass beds, head out to the four mile or a late-night jetty session. Don’t forget to include the code word in your picture!
