OzFish Wellington Chapter, is gearing up to host the highly anticipated Shimano Burrendong Easter Classic, with the competition running from the 15th to the 17th of April.

Four passionate recreational anglers from the Twin Rivers fishing club have established the OzFish Wellington Chapter to take over the Burrendong Classic in 2022.
The Inland Waterways Rejuvenation Association (IWRA), who previously coordinated the event, are ready to hand the baton over to the chapter to continue this fantastic event.
Thirty minutes downstream of the Macquarie, the waters take you to Lake Burrendong – The home of the much loved and long-running Burrendong Easter Classic.
The need for more fish habitat within the Macquarie is critical. The Wellington Chapter invites local recreational anglers to join the Chapter and community partners to work towards a healthy, vibrant and more productive fishery.
These keen anglers have attended the Easter Burrendong Classic in previous years. The competition attract thousands of recreational anglers entering the competition. People turn up in droves to camp along the banks of the Burrendong to support this event.
The local anglers have a vested interest in their waterways.
Running the Burrendong Classic makes sense because it encourages sustainable fishing practices, and the funds raised will support our local waterways.

Australia’s fishing conservation charity, OzFish Unlimited, has launched a new chapter for the Macquarie and Bell rivers in Wellington by establishing the OzFish Wellington Chapter, with the group set to host the much loved and long-running Burrendong Classic for Easter 2022.
