Important Message From OzFish During Covid-19
These times are uniquely challenging and uncertain and we know that affects all of our members and supporters.
Something which unifies our tribe is that many of us turn to fishing to get through tough times but even that at the moment can present risks to ourselves and others right now.
We all have a role to play to help each other.
If you’re turning to fishing as a way to get some fresh air and exercise we ask you to follow the distancing rules and guidelines;
· Restrict your fishing to places of easy access not far from your home.
· Make sure it is safe to fish particularly if you are by yourself.
· If fishing with someone else fish only with people from your household.
· Keep fishing to short periods of time.
· Maintain a safe distance from others while fishing. At least a rod-length is a good measure of safety.
· obey any local authorities’ requests such as avoiding boating to alleviate pressure on rescue teams.
As this situation gets more restricted this advice may change and we support whatever measures are necessary to enable us to recover quickly as a nation and get back to doing what we love.
Let’s all be kind. Be pro-active and be part of the solution to help protect each other.
