Home / Waterbug Monitoring

Join the OzFish team down by the water and learn how to take part in the most exciting way to establish the health of your waterway or see if it’s changed following any harmful disturbances or habitat restoration work. You will also find out how to match the hatch by seeing which insects and bugs are available for fish to feed on in your waterway, so next time you head out fishing you can choose the best lures, baits, and flies!

What can waterbug monitoring can tell us about fish habitat?

Sit back and listen to John Gooderham’s expert insight into the important role waterbugs play in building healthy fish populations, how the resnagging and revegetation work OzFish achieves can be measured using waterbug monitoring, and how you can upload your own results and find historical waterbug data for your waterway.
