Wilsons River Tree Planting Day – NSW
March 2 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm AEDT
Come and join us to help plant some trees along the Wilsons River!
The river, part of the Richmond River catchment, is facing a range of changes, with the impact degrading fish habitat. A site that was once almost completely covered with woody weeds, including camphor laurels and privets, has undergone extensive weed removal and is now ready to be planted with native vegetation. This will benefit native fish, stabilise riparian banks and help reduce erosion. It will also create a source of shade and provide a continued connection of native corridor.
Following the tree planting, join us to celebrate at the Eltham Pub, conveniently located across the road. We’ll provide morning tea to keep us going until pub time.
Location meeting point:
Registration is essential. we hope to see you there!
This project was made possible through OzFish’s Driving Fish Habitat Action partnership with Landcare NSW, with funding support from NSW Recreational Fishing Trusts and BCF – Boating, Camping, Fishing.
Thanks also to the landholder for helping us restore this important habitat on the Wilsons.
