Trees for Fish – Coraki (session one) – NSW
June 6, 2023 @ 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm AEST
Join us for an afternoon of tree planting at Coraki on the Richmond River to help improve habitat for native fish.
Our beloved Richmond River has seen better times, and we want to give it a helping hand. The Coraki section of the Richmond supports brackish fish species such as mullet and bream, and is a popular fishing spot for Australian bass. Years of land clearing, animal compaction and de-snagging have been compounded by the 2022 flood disaster.
By excluding livestock and revegetating the riparian area of the river, we can help with bank restabilisation, decrease erosion, provide shade, and support food, diet and habitat for our local native fish species.
This import planting contributes to the health and function of coastal and estuarine habitats for the benefit of fisheries and local recreational fishers.
Registration is essential. We hope to see you there!
