Seeds for Snapper WA 2022 – Seagrass Fruit Collection Dive and Sorting Day

November 19, 2022 @ 8:00 am - 4:00 pm AWST

We need volunteers to help collect and disperse more than one million seeds back into Cockburn Sound and you can join us.

As members of the local community, you can play an active role in restoring these vitally important natural habitats. OzFish is determined to restore seagrass loss via harvesting seagrass fruits and reseeding them into areas ready to be re-established as seagrass meadows. Doing so will provide shelter for our diverse range of marine species, including important recreational fishing species such as our iconic pink snapper.

Morning seagrass harvesting dive  |  8am – 11am
Afternoon seagrass harvesting dive    | 11am – 2pm
Seagrass squad, shore-based volunteers sorting collected seeds  |  2pm – 4pm

Before registering to participate in the event, please ensure that you have submitted your details to be a 2022 Seeds for Snapper WA volunteer with us.
