Seagrass Restoration North Queensland

September 29 @ 8:00 am - 4:30 pm AEST

Join in with the Crew from Coastal Marine Ecosystems Research Centre (CMERC) at Curtis island to contribute to the restoration of seagrass meadows in the local area. We have a number of dates in the coming months and encourage locals, travelers and anyone that has an interest in seagrass restoration to get involved.

Our activities include seagrass flower collection from the local meadows. If you are keen to spend some time helping in seagrass restoration, learning new skills, and meet like-minded people, then this is for you. Seagrass restoration is a great way to get involved in restoring affected seagrass meadows on the East Coast of QLD. Our activities are fun and family-friendly, creating a relaxed environment where all are welcome. Make sure you wear enclosed shoes that can get wet. A majority of the work is outdoors, so would recommend volunteers bring a hat and long sleeved shirt and plenty of water. We would welcome all assistance, it will be an interactive fun filled day, the more the merrier!

Registration is essential, we hope to see you there!
