Rocky Creek Planting Day – NSW

May 18 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm AEST

An overgrown creek with trees on either side and a pile of branches in the foreground

Come and join us to plant some natives along Rocky and Little Rocky Creek to help improve fish habitat!

The property and creeks are home to platypus, cox’s and firetail gudgeon, Australian bass, saw shell turtles, water rats, and koalas. It was also one of the last areas of the Richmond River catchment that the local wild population of eastern cod were found. A site well worth looking after!

Oz Fish has been working with the landholders at “Channon View” to rehabilitate the riparian zone that was extensively damaged during the 2022 floods. Over the last 8 months invasive weeds have been removed from the site and now we need your help to fill the beautiful creek frontage with native trees that will benefit native fish and other aquatic life.

Morning tea will be provided.

There is limited car parking (please carpool if possible) and a short walk is required to reach the site. Please be aware that the day’s planting will be on a slope.

The planting day will happen in Dunoon, with the exact location provided upon registration.

Registration is essential. We hope to see you there!

Thanks also to the landholder for helping us restore this important habitat in the upper reaches of the Richmond.
