Maguires Creek Riparian Restoration

September 7 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm AEST

Come help Ozfish to help restore Maguires Creek!

This important site in the Richmond River catchment has been impacted by the 2022 floods and currently has a lack of native riparian vegetation and is covered in invasive weeds, having a cascade of negative effects for our waterway.

From its location up on the Alstonville Plateau, Maguires Creek is contributing to increased sediments and nutrients, which are running downstream and impacting the many important native fish species and habitats they rely on.

By joining in planting trees, we will be helping to improve water quality, and fish habitat by providing shade and food for some of our favourite rec species. We will also be helping to connect to surrounding Big Scrub remnants located on the property and surrounding!

Together with your help, we plan to stabilise the banks, reduce runoff and continue to connect to surrounding big scrub rainforest remnants. Volunteers will help to plant out this section with 700 native trees and grasses!

Registration is essential. We hope to see you there!
