Karingal Reserve Healthy Rivers Planting Day

September 24, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm AEST

OzFish has 1500 native trees and shrubs to plant along Dogwood Creek, on Karingal Reserve near Miles, Qld.

Join volunteers from four OzFish chapters across Queensland and New South Wales to help create healthy fish habitats. Trees are important for fish as they create shade, provide food (insects and plant matter) and form snags from branches that end up in the water.

Come plant a tree, enjoy the sausage sizzle (supplied) and do your part for the future of local fishing.

All are welcome, registration is essential.

This project is funded by the Australian Government’s Murray–Darling Healthy Rivers Program. The Healthy Rivers Program is funding community-led grants for on-ground projects that improve the health and ecological condition of rivers and wetlands across the Basin, while supporting economic development and jobs. The project is also supported by BCF – Boating, Camping, Fishing and the local recreational angling community.
