Gone Fishing Day Family Friendly Fishing – Richmond River

Fishing comp, BBQ, tips, games and prizes for Gone Fishing Day!
The Richmond River Chapter are partnering up with the legends at Wardell Core and Wardell Angling Club for a family friendly day of fishing!
Learn how to fish, protect our river and enjoy fishing activities and games for young and old.
Join us for a great day out celebrating what we all love about fishing at Wardell Wharf and Reserve on the Richmond River.
There will be a stack of fun for everyone to enjoy on the day:
- Fishing Comp*
- Casting demos and comps
- Learn to tie your hooks and lures
- Fishing in the river for everyone to enjoy!
- Fish Habitat Chats
- FREE BBQ
- Prizes and giveaways on the day
*The comp is free to enter and will run on Saturday 12th – Sunday 13th with weigh in at 1pm. Link to more details on the comp available soon.
Kicking off from 10am to 2pm, at Wardell Wharf and Reserve next to the river.

Gone Fishing Day is an initiative of the Australian Recreational Fishing Foundation (ARFF), the peak national body and key voice for Australia’s recreational fishing community. This event is part of Richmond River Fest presented by Richmond Riverkeeper and is supported by NSW DPIRD – Fisheries and Forestry, Recreational Fishing Trusts, Wardell Core, Wardell Angling Club and BCF-Boating, Camping, Fishing.
