School holidays habitat restoration and family fishing day: Reflections Copeton Waters
October 2 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm AEST
Join like-minded people who share a love for fishing and a commitment to environmental stewardship on Wednesday 2nd of October 2024.
This will be a fun family day out tackling litter, building fish hotels and catching native fish at Reflections Holiday Park, Copeton.
When you dedicate your time to cleaning up our shorelines and riverbanks, youโre not only preventing plastic and debris from harming aquatic life, but youโre also creating change and inspiring others to follow suit.
Fish hotels are an innovatively designed wooden construction, that looks like a hashtag (#). They consist of criss-crossed wooden beams placed to create a complex system of habitat that sits on the riverbed. Made from natural materials, they are environmentally friendly and a perfect location for native fish to inhabit.
All materials and PPE will be provided. Parent/guardian supervision of children is essential for this event.
There will also be free catering for those who register.
If youโre already part of our Junior Program these activities will earn you your Wobbegong (litter clean up) and Decorator Crab badges when you submit your photo entry through the OzFish portal. Not a member? Sign up here: Junior OzFishers.
