Clarence Saltmarsh & Mangrove Restoration Working Bee – NSW
November 2 @ 8:30 am - 11:30 am AEDT
Come and help us to restore Clarence River Saltmarsh and Mangroves on Yaegl Country.
These important ecosystems provide shelter to juvenile fish, are a feeding ground for many popular rec fish species, and are a prawn production powerhouse. Unfortunately, these habitats are threatened by a range of human impacts and they need our help to be happy and healthy once again!
So far through our working bees we’ve removed over 1200kg of rubbish from the sites and removed a LOT of weeds. Now it’s time to do the science and see how the health of our sites are looking!
Join us this working bee to learn more about these ecosystems and we will teach you how to monitor and track their health! ๐
What to bring?
-Closed toed shoes
-Suitable clothing for muddy conditions
-Drink bottle
Weโll provide all the equipment and FREE LUNCH to thank you for your efforts and there’ll be a prize for the person that finds the most crabs on the day!
This event does require a decent level of fitness as we will be walking approximately 5km through the wetland.
*NUMBERS ARE LIMITED*
To limit our impact on the saltmarsh we can only take 10 people with us, so registration is essential!
We hope to see you there!
