Blitz the Barwon and Clean-up the Curdies – River clean-up
October 16, 2021 - October 17, 2021
Take a walk and clean up your waterway!
Lockdowns have taught us the importance of time in nature yet restricted many opportunities to give back to the environment.
With restrictions easing, chances to get back out and contribute are on the horizon, yet many are still limited by event numbers.
The Event
We’ve found a way to bring the OzFish community together to look after the Barwon and Curdies Rivers – by undertaking an ‘online’ clean-up.
If you’re walking the dog, going for a stroll, having a swim or flicking a line between the 16th – 17th of October, bring a bag and some gloves and pick up rubbish along the way.
How to register
Click the link below and enter your details in the form provided. You must register to be eligible for a chance to win of the random drawn prizes.
Send us your pics!
Upload images of what you have collected to the comments section of the Geelong Chapter Facebook page, and you’ll be in the running to win one of three random drawn BCF vouchers.
Remember, if you pick up any masks, cut the elastic bands as they can entangle wildlife. It is also a good idea to cut rope and fishing line into small pieces for the same reason.
Target area:
Barwon Estuary (Geelong and Indented Head Chapters), and Curdies River (South West Victoria Chapter).
