Better Saltmarsh, Better Fishing Tour – Hobart Airport

November 29, 2021 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm AEDT

Join leading saltmarsh expert Vishnu Prahalad and OzFish Project Officer Kate Ward for a tour of Hobart Airport saltmarsh.

Did you know that because we don’t have any mangroves in Tasmania, saltmarshes play an extra important role for fish? Saltmarshes not only improve water quality and support other ecosystems like seagrass meadows but they also are an important food source and provide shelter for juvenile fish.

The tour is a great chance to learn more about how better saltmarshes mean better fishing and the site is a fantastic example of healthy saltmarsh habitat.

Location: Close to Hobart Airport, further details will be provided upon booking.
Registration essential.
