Fishing Time, Weigh-in and Presentation
Location: Warrana Weir, Coonamble, NSW
Competition fishing time start and finish: Saturday 12 October August, 7am to 2pm
Weigh in at the OzFish hub at the Warrana Weir: 2pm to 2.30pm
Presentations: 2.30pm to 3pm
No late submissions will be accepted.
Competition Rules
Entrants must be registered before a fish can be entered into competition. Walk ups welcome – sign up at the OzFish hub at the Lake Forbes Water Park from 6am.
Entrants must also deliver at least 50 items of rubbish collected from their local waterways. Bins for proper disposal will be available.
You can catch fish at the Weir or in the Castlereagh and it’s associated wetlands in the vicinity of Coonamble and bring your carp in for disposal. Only fish caught during the competition start and finish time (7am to 2pm on Saturday 12 October 2024) are to be entered.
It is the responsibility of all entrants to be aware of and comply with the relevant NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI) Regulations for Inland Recreational Fishing, including holding a fishing license for those required. NSW Department of Primary Industries. Any competitor suspected of illegal fishing methods will be reported directly to NSW Fisheries.
We are promoting a healthy future for the fish, so please release all native fish captures. Carp are not to be returned to the water, and should be disposed of at the OzFish hub at the Lake Forbes Water Park after weigh in.

Carp – fish are to be killed humanely. There will be disposal arrangements for these on site.
Catch and release:
All native fish – must be returned to the water unharmed, as quickly as possible

- Biggest carp (over 12 and under 17)
- Biggest carp (over 17 of age)
- Most number of carp captured (team or single entrant)
- Ugliest carp
- Most rubbish collected
All decisions of the event committee are final.
