Maroochy Chapter

The OzFish Maroochy Chapter is a vibrant community of dedicated anglers and conservationists and Traditional Owners committed to preserving and enhancing the aquatic habitats in the Maroochy River. Members of the OzFish Maroochy Chapter have generations of invaluable knowledge caring for the local sea Country and fish habitat. Focused on sustainable fishing practices and habitat restoration, the Chapter actively engages in projects that protect local waterways and support biodiversity. For years they have restored eroding banks along the Maroochy River planting mangrove seedlings. Through educational programs, hands-on restoration activities, and community events, they foster a deep connection to the environment and promote responsible stewardship. To get involved, join their regular meetings, participate in volunteer activities, or become a member and contribute to the ongoing efforts to safeguard the rivers’s precious fish habitat
