World Wetlands Day – Dubbo

February 2, 2023 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm AEDT

Join OzFish to celebrate World Wetlands Day by attending an outdoor forum and memorial picnic at the site of the former Wingewarra Swamp (Victoria Park).

Bring a picnic and listen to a range of speakers from government and community organisations. They will be giving updates on restoration projects on the Wambuul Macquarie River, how the fish are going with the last few years of high flows, bird breeding in the Macquarie Marshes, the rafts (log jams) downstream of Warren, and how you can get involved in helping our rivers and wetlands. You will also find out about the lost Wingewarra Swamp and watercourse that used to run through Dubbo.

Kids and adults – bring along your colouring in competition poster for a chance to win a prize!

The picnic will be near the duck pond in the park. If a wet weather venue is required, registered participants will be advised of the new location via email.

Registration is essential. We hope to see you there!
