Planting Riparian Corridors for Australian Bass and Platypus – Cattai Creek

March 27, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am AEDT

Australian Bass and our beautiful endemic Platypus are calling for your help to restore their habitat!

OzFish Hawkesbury-Nepean Chapter in collaboration with Hawkesbury-Nepean Landcare Network and Cattai Hills Environment Network are working to rehabilitate habitat for platypus and freshwater fish species such as the Australian Bass within Cattai Creek. Join us for a planting day, where you may even be able to spot the elusive platypus!

It’s crucial for us to work together in rehabilitating our endangered ecological communities and creating a habitat for species reliant on these ecosystems. Habitat destruction,  introduced plants & animals and waterway pollution are threatening our native species. With your help we will plant 800 native groundcover species along with 100 canopy trees and shrubs creating a riparian corridor for our natives.

Our planting day will be all about getting together and learning from one another. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to create a healthy environment – and who knows,  they might even come out and thank us!

Morning tea will be provided.

The planting will be on private property at Cattai Creek, Annangrove. Registrants will be sent an email with the address 1-week prior to the event.
