Fishing for Science – Burrill Lake – NSW

March 11, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm AEDT

Join OzFish Eurobodalla Chapter to catch some fish for science

The University of Newcastle is undertaking research to determine the importance of saltmarsh in the diets of the fish of Burrill Lake. The researchers need as many samples as they can get, and OzFish are supporting the work by bringing together local anglers for a morning of fishing.

We will meet in the park to learn more about saltmarsh before heading out individually or together to fish for 3 hours. We will come back together to provide samples, distribute prizes for best catch and enjoy a BBQ in the park. You will keep any legal fish that you catch for the table and supply a small flesh sample to researchers. Attendees are asked to bring land or water-based fishing gear. Registration is essential for catering numbers. We hope to see you there!
