We will be assessing fish diversity in the wetlands using boat and backpack electrofishing as part of our project to improve fish passage in north QLD.
This is an opportunity for volunteers to learn more about fish fauna in their local waterways, and how fish communities change as a result of barriers to movement. Sample collection wil be completed by OzFish staff and contractors, and there will be opportunities for volunteers to assist with measuring and identifying fish captured.
Registration is essential. We hope to see you there!
This work is funded through a grant from the National Landcare Program to Terrain NRM and OzFish Unlimited. It is also supported by Tropical River Consulting and BCF – Boating, Fishing and Camping.
