Creekwatch – Upper Ross River

October 25, 2023 @ 8:00 am - 11:00 am AEST

We’d love you to join us in monitoring the homes of our favourite fish!

Our activities include waterbug sampling, fish surveys and water quality testing. If you are keen to spend some time outdoors, learn new skills, and meet like-minded people, then this is for you. Creekwatch is a great way to get involved in catchment management and give something back to the waterways you love. Our activities are fun and family-friendly, creating a relaxed environment where all are welcome. Make sure you wear enclosed shoes that can get wet, a hat and bring plenty of water.

Dr Shelly Templeman, a principal research Scientist at James Cook University (Townsville) will be joining us. Dr Templeman will teach correct sampling techniques for macro invertebrates along with tips and tricks in the Identification of macro invertebrates. This is a great opportunity to get out and learn some new skills whilst learning about your local waterways.
