Braeden Lampard
OzFish Unlimited – Program Manager – Murray Darling Basin

Braeden Lampard has over 9 years’ experience working in local stakeholder engagement, communications, and fish ecology. Braeden is a dedicated and highly motivated professional who has had a strong interest in the environment industry since his childhood, which started from camping, bushwalking, and fishing along the Murray and Darling Rivers.

Synopsis: Recreational fishing volunteers and local community groups are joining together to repair and improve the Sunraysia region through the Sunraysia River Repair Bus. Find out how and why.

 

Peter Heath
NSW DPI Fisheries Compliance

Peter is the District Fisheries Officer for the Far West District of NSW and have been for the past 5 years. The main Rivers of my district are the Murray and the Darling. I’ve been a fisheries officer for 12 years and have worked extensively across the southern parts of NSW in that period.

Synopsis: Peter will present on compliance outcomes and operations within the far west district of that period.

Iain Ellis 
NSW Department of Primary Industries – Fisheries Manager Freshwater Environment

Iain has worked on the biology and ecology of native fish for over fifteen years with particular focus on the conservation of threatened species, and adaptive management to preserve and recover native fish habitat.

Synopsis: Iain will speak on the need for refined flow management to support breeding, recruitment, movement, and food supply for native fish.

 

Peter Rose
North Central CMA – Project manager

Peter Rose is freshwater ecologist and Project Manager for North Central CMA’s Native Fish Recovery Plan-Gunbower and lower Loddon, and the Recovery Reach Coordinator for the Mid-Murray Floodplain Recovery Reach.

Synopsis: The Native Fish Recovery Plan – Gunbower and lower Loddon is a large-scale and long term plan to create a world class fishery in North Central Victoria, by addressing flow, habitat and connectivity. This presentation will cover the successes and challenges of implementing the Gunbower plan over last six years, and outline an exciting new plan that is being developed for the adjacent Mid-Murray region.

 

Lubin Pfeiffer
Recreational angler

Lubin Pfeiffer is a freelance fishing journalist living in the Barossa Valley, South Australia. Lubin has represented Australia at World and Commonwealth fly fishing championships six times, winning the individual gold at the 2020 Commonwealth championships in New Zealand. When not competition fishing, he fishes for all manner of species fresh and salt and is currently the host of The Full Scale Fishing Adventures.

Synopsis: Lubin will speak on all things Murray cod fishing in the Murray/Darling basin with lures. How to select the right water, lure selection and why, what retrieves work best, and the best way to catch a big Murray cod for yourself.
