n 2020 and 2022, OzFish Wagga Wagga utilised the best-practice riverbank stabilisation techniques to restore the eroded bank and habitat loss in Tarcutta Creek. OzFish Wagga Wagga is now moving into stage three of their fish habitat restoration efforts at Tarcutta Creek, by installing 200 tonnes of rock and 15 woody habitat.

Tarcutta Creek is a southern tributary of the Murrumbidgee River Catchment had suffered for years. It was when the eroding banks significantly reduced the remaining fish habitat by undermining the overhanging bank vegetation and smothering snags and microhabitats nearby with sediment that OzFish Wagga Chapter wanted to help.
In partnership with Taronga Western Plains Zoo, Dubbo Rivercare and various community groups, OzFish has been controlling the weeds and planting more native vegetation along a section of Wambuul-Macquarie River.
