You’ve just submitted the
Green and Gold challenge!

Let’s learn some cool facts about my friend
-Yellowbelly Macquaria ambigua

Yellowbelly is a nickname for the Golden Perch – you’ve probably guessed the name comes from its body colour, which is generally olive-green with a yellow or cream belly.1 They’re another species that are carnivores, which means they like to eat meat. They mainly snack on Yabbies, shrimps, insects, molluscs, and small fish.2 They prefer to hangout in warm inland water but will tolerate temperatures between 4-37°C.2 That’s too hot for me!3

Have you seen a River Repair Bus? They drive around different locations to collect rubbish, undertake weed removal and do other activities that improve habitat.
