Let’s learn some cool facts about my friend
– the leafy sea-dragon Phycodurus Eques

 

There are only two seadragon species in Australia and the leafy seadragon is one of them, enjoying the temperature of our Aussie water.1 You can probably guess by their name that their appearance is similar to lots of leaves. Do you know what aquatic plant they look like most? Kelps, which are large brown algae seaweeds.2 They are super good at camouflaging on kelp-covered rocky reefs3, which is handy because they’re not the best swimmers.4
