Geoff Collins – Project Manager North Queensland

Based in Townsville, North Queensland, Geoff has a solid background in biological science. Over the past decade Geoff has worked on a variety of research projects across eastern and southern Australia, focussing primarily on ecology, physiology and aquaculture of fish, crustaceans, molluscs and macroalgae. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals and his work has been featured on ABC Radio National. He has previously held a position as QLD representative for the Australian Society for Fish Biology. Geoff is presently an Adjunct Research Fellow at James Cook University and is continuing his research into the hypoxia tolerance of tropical fish.

Geoff is a keen recreational fisher and is passionate about habitat restoration for Australian natives. He grew up fishing in the bays and inlets of the Great Australian Bight, and is now a keen angler in the tropical north.
