Seeds for Snapper WA 2024 – AQWA Community Seagrass Day
November 16 @ 8:00 am - 3:00 pm AWST
To celebrate the exciting new seagrass exhibit at AQWA we are inviting the team down to get a bit salty and help us with our seagrass restoration!
AQWA members, families and the local community are invited to help collect and disperse seagrass seeds back into Cockburn Sound and you can join us!
Qualified divers and freedivers are needed as well as onshore helpers. Please register as normal below.
If you would like to come down to the beach in the morning to watch the dive team in action, there is no need to register.
OzFish is determined to restore seagrass loss via harvesting seagrass fruits and reseeding them into areas ready to be re-established as seagrass meadows. Doing so will provide shelter for our diverse range of marine species, including important recreational fishing species such as our iconic pink snapper.
