Riedel Park Saltmarsh Surveys – QLD

Come and learn about saltmarsh and monitor its recovery!
Since 2023, OzFish has been surveying the health and coverage of the Saltmarsh community at Riedel Park, Carbrook. The Saltmarsh in this area has been degraded over time, but the Council’s initiatives in constructing a boardwalk and platform have allowed it to regenerate.
At this event, you’ll learn why saltmarsh is important for the health of our waterways and fish populations, how it gets impacted and how to use transects and quadrants to survey Saltmarsh to monitor its ongoing health.

To prevent having impacts on the saltmarsh through trampling, numbers are strictly limited for this event.
