Lily Creek Tree Planting – Project Launch, QLD

October 11 @ 8:30 am 12:30 pm

Tree planting on riparian zone

We’re kicking off our Saltwater Creek and Lily Creek Habitat Restoration project with a ceremonial tree planting along a 40m section of Lily Creek.

Following this, we will collect some data on the condition of the existing riparian strip and aquatic weeds at the site that we will use to monitor the outcomes from the project.

We will also deploy some camera traps, fish traps and throw a few cast nets to sample the fish diversity at the site to support the monitoring program we have for the fish diversity using these waterways.

Over the next 18 months, we will be planting trees and managing weeds to improve the fish habitat and water quality along 1.5km of urban waterways at 5 sites in the Lily Creek and Saltwater Creek catchment.
