Gone Fishing Day Reef Deployment & Fishing – Central Moreton
October 13 @ 8:00 am - 1:00 pm AEDT
Come along and join the fun for Gone Fishing Day!
Celebrate National Gone Fishing Day with the Central Moreton Bay Chapter as we come together to enjoy the health and social benefits of fishing while supporting OzFish’s shellfish reef restoration efforts. Whether you’re an experienced angler or just starting out, everyone is welcome to join the fun!
We’ll meet at the Port of Brisbane boat ramp before heading to the reef restoration site for a morning of hands-on conservation, followed by a chance to cast a line and relax.
Don’t have a boat? No worries—limited spots are available for those without boats (email robbieporter@ozfish.org.au). After the reef deployment and fishing, registered participants can enjoy a BBQ to round off the day.
Fishing has been shown to reduce stress, improve mental health, and foster a deep connection with nature. Let’s celebrate together and make a positive impact on our waterways!
Registration is essential. We hope to see you there!
Gone Fishing Day is an initiative of the Australian Recreational Fishing Foundation (ARFF), the peak national body and key voice for Australia’s recreational fishing community. This event is supported by BCF-Boating, Camping, Fishing.
