This event has been postponed , details will be available soon on the revised date.
An unforgettable environmental and fishing experience on the Gwydir River with renowned OzFish fishing guide Harry Davey and Moree River Repair Bus leader Jay Barnett.
The Gwydir River has faced extreme environmental challenges, including bushfires and floods, all of which have impacted local fish habitats and water quality.
This event offers a unique opportunity to contribute to restoration efforts while enjoying a hands-on fishing experience with two passionate conservationists.
Jay and Harry have led numerous Gone Fishing Days, Fish Rescue Days, clean-up efforts, and riparian restoration projects under the OzFish banner.
As part of the event, you’ll take part in water bug monitoring within the Gwydir River and discuss the impact of invasive Common Carp on water bugs and ecosystem health.
You’ll then have the chance to do your part for the environment by catching and removing some of these pest species.
