Dive In and Clean Up Australia Day 2025 – Tweed NSW
March 2 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm AEDT

Due to forecast weather conditions, the dive portion of this event has been postponed.
The land based clean-up will continue as planned, so we’ll see you there.
Tweed River Rock Wall & Boat Harbour Clean-Up!
Join us and Watersports Tweed for Clean Up Australia Day as we take action to restore and protect the Tweed River. Whether you’re passionate about keeping our waterways pristine or just love getting your hands dirty (or your fins wet), this is your chance to make a real impact.
We’re tackling waste from above and below the surface with a dual-action clean-up, one team on land and another diving deep to remove underwater litter along the rock wall.
- Underwater dive clean-up: Certified divers will do an underwater sweep of the rock wall for submerged debris. Meet at Ebenezer Park from 8:00am-10:00am.
- Land-based clean-up: Help clear rubbish from the rock wall and parklands. Meet at Chris Cunningham Park 10:00am-12:00pm
- Protect local fish habitats: Every bit of waste removed helps create a healthier ecosystem.
This is more than just a clean-up, it’s a chance to connect with your community, learn about the impact of litter on local fishing grounds, and be part of the nationwide OzFish movement for healthier waterways.
A free BBQ will be available for volunteers at Watersports Tweed to finish off the day.
How It Works
Land-based volunteers will clean up the park and rock wall.
Divers will enter the water at Little Duranbah Beach, clean along the rock wall, and exit at Jack Evans Boat Harbour. A qualified scuba instructor and dive master will lead the underwater clean-up. All divers must complete the required paperwork before the event.
