Lower Riverina Chapter

The Lower Riverina OzFish Chapter is a dedicated community of anglers passionate about sustainable fishing and the health of local waterways. They focus on educating younger generations about responsible fishing practices and leading projects to enhance river ecosystems and support fish biodiversity. Through hands-on initiatives, they work to improve water quality and habitat restoration, ensuring the region’s rivers thrive for future generations. Community members can get involved by becoming a member or joining volunteer activities to support their conservation efforts.

Location

The Lower Riverina region of NSW is situated in the state’s southwest, encompassing towns such as Euston, Tooleybuc, Balranald, Kyalite and Moulamein. Bordered by the Murray and Murrumbidgee Rivers, it is comprised of a network of waterways, including the Wakool and Edward Rivers, as well as countless creeks, lakes and extensive floodplains. The region features diverse ecosystems, including red gum forests and saltbush plains, supporting a variety of native wildlife and fish species.

Meeting
