Catch-a-carp days were held to reduce the numbers of Common Carp and create awareness about the importance of native fish and their habitat requirements.
The project was managed by Sunraysia OzFish members and increased public interest in fish and fish habitat issues for future programs. Sunraysia OzFish believes that public engagement and education is one of the major drivers for undertaking successful river rehabilitation. By engaging the public, we hope that members of the community can learn the benefits of snags/woody habitat and what they provide for native fish.
This project would not be possible without the support of local community partnerships and our corporate partner BCF – Boating, Camping, Fishing.
