Melissa Howard – Director of Communication and Engagement

Melissa leads the Communication and Engagement team.

They collaborate with the Habitats team, partners and media to get OzFish’s messages to the right people, at the right time, to support and inspire Australians to take action for the waterways they love.

Melissa is passionate about native wildlife, food sovereignty, community campaigning, and innovative approaches to regenerating our nature spaces.

A former journalist, she learned through conversations with global leaders of sustainability that solutions to our biggest problems are often counterintuitive.

Melissa grew up in remote parts of Aotearoa and is happiest when barefoot in a creek.
