Alacia Cockbain – Project Officer – NSW North Coast
With a background in conservation and land management, marine science, and extensive volunteer experience, Alacia focuses on restoring waterways, improving habitat connectivity, and fostering community engagement to create lasting impacts on aquatic ecosystems.
Based in Coffs Harbour, Alacia brings a strong connection to nature and a passion for conservation. Growing up on a farm in the New England region of NSW, Alacia spent much of her time in freshwater rivers, fostering a love for the outdoors and catch-and-release fishing for Australian bass.
The impact of the 2019 Black Summer bushfires, along with her knowledge of bush regeneration and native flora and fauna, has strengthened her commitment to environmental restoration.
