At OzFish, we’re passionate about both fishing and improving fish habitat. That’s why we’re excited to introduce OzFish Sustainable Competitions, a new initiative to support locally run fishing competitions that are family-friendly and nature-friendly.

Want to run your own sustainable fishing event?
When you partner with us for your competition, you’ll receive:
- OzFish fishing event insurance for peace of mind.
- Promotion through OzFish channels to reach like-minded fishers.
- Support from your local OzFish Chapter (availability may vary).
- 20% off OzFish membership for your competition participants.
- Donated small prizes to reward anglers.
- Up to $1,000 toward eligible running costs (reimbursed).
What’s the catch?
We love supporting great events, but we do have a few key requirements:
- You must organize your own competition committee – OzFish will support where possible.
- We require at least 12 weeks’ notice before your event.
- Your competition must follow OzFish’s Sustainable Fishing Competition Guide.
- You must inform and involve your local OzFish Chapter.
- All event materials must include OzFish Sustainable Competitions branding.
- OzFish may set up a stall or make a presentation at your event.
What is sustainable fishing?
Sustainable fishing is about more than just responsible catch and release, it’s about restoring and protecting the waterways that make great fishing possible.
